HOTELS/WASHINGTON TRIP

I hope everyone is running well as the weather starts turning for the better. I am almost done revising the recommended hotels list for the Run and will post that in the next week or two. I provide the recommended hotel list as a resource for runners to use or to ignore as runners may choose to stay at other hotels, camp (probably not too many campgrounds on the route but I did not look into that), travel and sleep in an RV, etc.
I note that most of the nights on the route there is a nearby Wyndham Corporation Hotel (Super 8, Microtel, Days Inn, Travelodge, etc). If you are not already a Wyndham Travel rewards member I recommend you go to wyndhamrewards.com and click on Join to become a Wyndham Rewards member. This makes it easy and quick to make many hotel reservations at one time and also allows you to earn free nights by accruing Wyndham reward points. For anyone who prefers to stay at Holiday Inns, I also have another hotel listing that lists all the Holiday Inn Express hotels on the route.

I had another good but short trip to Washington over the Labor Day weekend. Good news in that the Snoqualmie Pass Tunnel on the John Wayne Trail was opened in July after being closed for two years. Nevertheless, I wanted to ensure there was an alternate route through the Snoqualmie Pass area in case the tunnel does not reopen next summer in time for the Run. I am happy to report that there is a good alternate route in the Snoqualmie Pass area although the hope is that the tunnel will be open for all to use when we run through the area.

I'll note in the blog when I post the recommended hotel listings.
